R&S Sponsors Winning Anglers

Our award-winning team of walleye anglers took 1st place in a recent Michigan Walleye Tour event on the Detroit River. R&S Cutter Grind sponsors the team of Bob Leslie, Frank Brogger, and Ann Jasman. The trio won $10,500 in the fishing event.

The Michigan Walleye Tour began in 1995 with a few anglers getting together to hold weekend tournaments; test their skills; learn about catching walleye; and teach others to enjoy the sport. The tour quickly grew to become the largest state-run walleye tournament trail in the nation.

R&S Cutter Grind provides top-quality sharpening, alteration and coating services to businesses throughout the nation.

R&S Salutes Military Personnel, Veterans and Their Families

• At R&S, we're always proud to support the men and women who served this country, both past and present. Recently, we sponsored the Slugging for Soldiers 2016 Co-Ed Softball Tournament. The tournament raised money for the Yellow Ribbon Guard, a Bay City-based organization.

   

  The Yellow Ribbon Guard strives to make a difference in the lives of our men and women who protect our freedom, past and present. They provide mailings for deployed soliders all year long. The Yellow Ribbon Guard also reaches out to children of fallen soldiers, veterans, wounded soldiers, and military families.

   

  The organization's major projects include: Help Send Santa to the Troops; family assistance for deployed service members; assisting wounded military; Snowball Express; Snowflake events; mailings to deployed military members; and veterans assistance.

   

Recent Blood Drive was a Success

R&S joined forces with PF Markey and Michigan Blood to help the community through a blood drive. During the drive, 20 people gave blood.

Michigan Blood was founded in 1955. It is an independent, nonprofit blood bank that provides blood for more than 60 hospitals throughout Michigan. Serving Michigan hospitals is the top priority for Michigan Blood, which collects more than 125,000 blood donations each year at nine permanent donation sites and more than 3,600 mobile blood drives statewide.

Related services available from Michigan Blood include a nationally recognized stem cell (marrow) program, therapeutic apheresis, DNA tissue-typing, transfusion medicine consultations, and Michigan’s first public cord blood bank. Michigan Blood is a member of America’s Blood Centers, a network of community blood banks spanning North America that together provide half the US blood supply. 

R&S Supports Toys For Tots

At R&S Cutter Grind, the well being of even the youngest members of our community is important to our whole team. That's why for more than a decade, we have been a proud supporter of Toys for Tots. In December, we gave $500 to this worthwhile cause. R&S Manager Alan McNalley praised Toys for Tots for its tradition of spending very little money on administrative costs. Instead, Toys for Tots spends most of its donations to directly benefit children.
